Privacy policy

Updated 13 September 2026

This policy covers browser download verification and download data in the ZnowSoft Release Registry.

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible mode to protect website downloads from bots and abuse. When you open a download verification page, Turnstile runs a background check in your browser.

Cloudflare processes technical signals including your IP address, browser information, TLS fingerprint and the website origin. It uses these signals to detect and block bots, and to improve Turnstile’s bot detection capabilities. Our server verifies the result before issuing a temporary download link.

Please read the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details about this processing, Cloudflare’s role and privacy rights. The addendum supplements the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Automatic application updates and Linux package-manager downloads do not run the Turnstile browser check.

Download data and abuse prevention

The registry records aggregate download counts by application, release, platform, date and download route. These counters do not contain visitor IP addresses.

To limit repeated and simultaneous transfers, the registry temporarily stores keyed hashes derived from client IP addresses. Active transfer records are released when downloads finish or disconnect; expired rate-limit records are removed on subsequent requests.

When website activity reporting is enabled, ZenHoot and ZenStork download starts are also reported to ZnowSoft with the application name, event identifier and time. This report can include the client IP address supplied by a trusted proxy. This optional reporting is skipped when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.

Privacy questions

For questions about the registry’s handling of your data, contact ZnowSoft through the ZnowSoft website. Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum provides information about contacting Cloudflare for its own processing.
